Moniack Mhor Creative Writing Centre invites you t Moniack Mhor Creative Writing Centre invites you to Abriachan Hall for an evening of international poetry, prose and music 🎵 

Enjoy a glass of wine, sit back and let the words reach you from poets and writers with roots in Gaelic, Irish, English, Tamil, and Ukrainian. The readings will be accompanied by The Bookshop Band, whose folk songs are the musical outpouring of the band’s own response to books they have read, creating the perfect complement to this international literary celebration.

It’s that time of year again! 🥕🥒🌱🥔🥦🥙🍅

Abriachan Hall’s annual Produce Show will once again take the form of a friendly competition and harvest gathering in the village hall. Each road end/area is invited to work together with their neighbours to decorate and fill a harvest table, celebrating the abundance of local produce found in Abriachan.

The winning table will be decided by a popular vote. While voting takes place, we will offer teas and a chance to taste some of the amazing food on display. This will be followed by an auction where we will sell off delicious boxes to raise money for the hall.

Abriachan Forest Trust are hosting their AGM on Friday 16th August at 7pm. All are welcome to attend.

We will be showing the film ‘Why Not Scotland?’ following the (very short!)AGM - a 60 minute documentary from Scotland the Big Picture which forms part of the Scottish Rewilding Alliance’s Rewilding Nation campaign. Across mainland Europe, nature is making a dramatic recovery. Could Scotland be next? Watch the trailer here.

Early Rider : recommended age 5-7, must be able to Early Rider : recommended age 5-7, must be able to brake and pedal with confidence and have some experience riding on off-road trails. Sessions will focus on building confidence with braking, pedalling, balance and techniques for negotiating green graded off road trails. There will be games, challenges as well as pump track and trail riding.  Progressing Rider : ~8-11s, riders who are becoming confident on blue graded off-road trails. We’ll focus on body position, using gears, cornering, group riding and tackling rougher forest trails with bike checks, challenges, games and pump track as well.  Every rider will need a bike in good working order, helmet (any pads if you wear them), gloves, and in your own small rucksack - extra layers, water, snacks, change of clothes, any medication ( inhaler, epipen etc).
